About Maisha Nelson

Born and raised in Marin County, Maisha developed an early appreciation for the qualities that define Northern California's distinctive communities. After attending the University of California, Irvine, she spent 12 years in New York City, where her interest in architecture and home design was piqued. During that time, she became especially drawn to the details that make living spaces distinctive—from the intricate designs of pre-war buildings to modern condominiums filled with amenities. Being able to observe some of the ways in which homes have evolved to reflect the lifestyles of the people who live in them was intriguing. Even more interesting was the notable  contrast between city and suburban living and some of the psychology around why people are drawn to one or the other.

Returning to California, Maisha made the East Bay her home and brings an appreciation for its diverse neighborhoods, beautiful weather, and vibrant communities. As a real estate professional with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, she is passionate about helping clients find not just a property, but a home that aligns with their lifestyle.

Before real estate, Maisha built an extensive career in Human Resources, where she developed strengths in relationship-building, active listening, finding common ground, and advocating for others. These skills translate directly to real estate, allowing her to understand clients’ needs, guide key decisions, and provide thoughtful, personalized support throughout the process.

Maisha believes successful real estate is built on trust, clear communication, and a deep understanding of each client’s goals. Whether working with first-time buyers, sellers, or clients in transition, she leverages Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ resources and market expertise to help clients move forward with confidence.

Beyond the transaction, Maisha enjoys sharing the Northern California lifestyle—from local coffee shops and farmers’ markets to parks, neighborhoods, wineries, and hidden gems that give each city and community its character.
